I finally feel like my bedroom makeover is done enough to post pictures of it. We pretty much removed everything from this room and started over! Our bedroom was a strange hodge podge of furniture, which sometimes looks fun and eclectic, but in our case it was just looking ignored. So, I decided that this should be our haven and a place we enjoy being. It took a couple of months to put it all together and find the right items for the space, but I think it turned out lovely.
We painted the walls with Sherwin Williams Repose Gray. I love gray walls. They seem to make the space feel really calm for some reason.
Paul had an old dresser that we painted white with my trusty Behr Paint and Primer in one. We added new pulls to it to make it look a little less dated.
I found a cute little nightstand at the Renovators Warehouse to salvage and painted it white to match the dresser. I also found our cool vintage headboard at the Renovators Warehouse. Now we had three sort of matching pieces due to my obsession with the Paint and Primer!
My grandfather brought us this cool retro armchair that seemed to match perfectly in the space and color scheme.
He also brought me this amazing cool retro floor ceiling lamp thingy. I actually called and specifically requested this item because I always thought it was sooooo cool. I know it is a bit strange to some I am sure, but I love it!Not sure what it is called. It still works and gives off some amazing soft light for those romantic times…hehe.
I had my heart set on bedding set from Restoration Hardware that was a bit out of my price range for this project, but I found a pretty set at Target that was in the same color scheme and actually I really like the ruching on the comforter.
So there is my bedroom makeover! It turned out just as I hoped.
I have this cool antique window that I have whitewashed that I will hang on that wall once I figure out the best way to hang it. I don’t want a window falling on one of my little loves and shattering!
Here is my cost breakdown:
Vintage Headboard- $50
Old fixer upper nightstand- $16
Paint- $35 Sherwin Williams Harmony low VOC paint
Comforter, shams and bedskirt- $100
Knobs for Paul’s old dresser- $25 from Home Depot
Primer and Paint in one for furniture- already had from painting kitchen cabinets- $0
Cool vintage chair and light- Free from Grandpa! Thanks!
Total for an entire room redecorated- $ 276
We were able to use a couple of the old items from our room, one being the armoir which houses all of my craft supplies (not a TV, remember we don’t watch it), and also one of our old nightstands which is now my sewing table.
